Benefits of Adhaar Card

 

By using the Aadhar number, you can get the LPG subsidy credited to your bank account directly. You can avail of the Jan Dhan Yogna. You can open a bank account using only the Aadhar card. This is possible under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yogna (PMJDY). All monthly pensioners have to link their Aadhar card to the respective department to get their monthly pension. The Digital Life Certificate allows disabled pensioners to get their pension online. Aadhar letter provided under UIDAI is enough to open a bank account.

Use the DigiLocker facility

You can use the DigiLocker too. The DigiLocker provided by the Government of India remains linked to various government departments and institutions. If you link your Aadhar card to the DigiLocker, you can interact with the institution or department online. For instance, the DigiLocker remains partnered with CBSE. They provide the digital mark sheet. Those students who have registered their mobile number with CBSE will receive an SMS giving the DigiLocker Account credentials. So, they can access their mark sheets online through the DigiLocker. To sign up for the DigiLocker, you need the mobile number only.

Updating the Aadhar card

In case some of the details you provided on the Aadhar card are wrong or if you have a spelling mistake, you can update these details online. To do this, you must have registered your mobile number with Aadhar and it must be valid. Online transactions are OTP authenticated, so you need to have the telephone in working condition.

To do the updating of your details, you can use the Self Service Update Portal (SSUP). Here you can update the Date of birth, address, name, mobile, email, and gender. Login to the Aadhar card SSUP website, enter your Aadhar number. Then, enter the details that you wish to correct. Scan and submit the documents that are proof of the new change. You will get an Aadhar card Update Request Number that you can use to track your request.

You can update the Aadhar details through the post. For that, you must download the form from the website. Mark all the fields that you must fill. Use the same language you used when you first submitted the Aadhar form application.

Providing the mobile number is mandatory and you can optionally give your email id also. You must provide self-attested copies of the certificates and documents needed. On top of the envelope, you should mark, “Aadhar Update/Correction”. Send it to one of the addresses given below:

The third type of updating is by visiting the nearest enrolment centre. You can choose this option to update your details at the Aadhar Permanent Enrolment Centre. You can update your demographics such as name, age, mobile, and so on and also your biometrics such as fingerprint, iris scan, and so on.
