Golden Temple or Harmandir Sahib – The Abode of God’s Spirituality
Sri Harmandir Sahib also called “the abode of god” is widely known by many other names too like Darbar Sahib, which not in a formal manner is called The Golden Temple. Golden temple is a gurudwara situated in the city of Amritsar, Punjab, India that is regarded as the highest philosophically spiritual place of Sikhism. This is listed in the 7 Wonders of India List.

The temple is named after hari (god), all the Sikhs and people following the Sikh religion come here to pray and value their ardas. Out of all the gurus of Sikh, the fifth guru, Guru Arjan Dev ji , patterned harmandir sahib to be constructed in the middle of the tank which was in the bottom of Amritsar. Structure and Building of Golden Temple

Darshani Deori an arch stands still at the end of the causeway, which is of ten feet in height and six feets in breadth. The panes of the door are designed in an artistic way opening to a bridge that takes one to the main building of Sri Harmandir sahib ji. Further, the bridge is linked with thirteen feet wide path that is circumambulatory known as the “Pardakshna”. It is across the main entrance and it takes us to the steps of god, spiritually regarded as the “steps of God”.
At har ki pauri , there is constant recitation of Guru granth sahib ji. Technically, the structure of Harmandir sahib is a three floor building in which the front part is facing the bridge while designed with curved arches. In the top of the first floor a four feet in height, a low retaining wall rises on all the directions, which further has Mamttes on the four sides. Exactly on the top of the main hall of the empire is the third floor, which is just a small square, shaped room owning three gates. The continuous reading of guru granth sahib ji takes place there too.
At the high of the room is the low shaped dome called the Gumbaz, which has a lotus petal in reflex at the avertedly base lotus, which in ahead supports the “kalash” which owns a gorgeous “chhatri” in the end. The architecture of the golden temple recognizes a courtesy between the Hindu Muslim arts of construction, which is highly recognized as the great infrastructure of India.
