In the year 2000 the New7Wonders Foundation started the campaign by listing the new 7 wonders of the world. They had to select the 7 Wonders of the World List from around 200 monuments. This Foundation was led by Canadian-Swiss person named Bernard Weber and founder’s name is John Zogby. This foundation was based in Switzerland, Zurich and Lisbon. The foundation had claimed that more than 100 lakh votes were given via internet or by phone. One of the 7 new wonders which was recently found by an American who brought it to the world’s attention. The name of the masterpiece by Inca empire was the Machu Pichhu.
About the MACHU PICCHU
It is one of the New 7 wonders of the world List situated in Peru. It is also called as the Machu Pitchu. It is a 15th century citadel which is located on the mountain ridge. The mountain ridge is 2430 meters above sea level. Machu Picchu is located in the Cusco region in Urubamba Province. The Urubamba is situated in the Machu Picchu city in Peru which is above the sacred valley around 80kms northwest of Cusco. This Machu Picchu was created for the Inca emperor Pachucati. This is also referred to the vanished city of Incas. Machu Picchu is the familiar icon of the Inca empire in Peru. The estate was built bout 1450 but after a century, it got abandoned due to the Spanish conquests. After the Spanish conquest, they were unknown about the estate until and American Historian Bingham brought it to the attention of the world in 1911.

The Machu Picchu estate is made up of sophisticated dry stone walls that can fuse rock without the help of a mortar. Its fascinating buildings provide some panoramic views and astronomical alignments. But its former use is still a mystery to the world. The elevation of the estate is 2430 meters. It has numerous structures and terraces which gives a view of the iconic hilltop. Landscape engineering skills were very high and strong evidence at the Machu Picchu. The estate has walls, terraces, buildings and ramps on the steep mountain. It serves as a part of an extensive water-distribution system. How to get there and when?
The American Historian Bingham walked for six days and discovered the estate of Inca after the conquests of the Spanish. Many choose to follow him and climb up to the ruins of the Legendary Machu Picchu by hiking. But there are many train transport facilities from Cusco which take only a few hours. The best time to visit the Machu Picchu is in the month of April to October. Busiest time if from June to August. A large crowd can make it a little hard to move around. It is a popular time for travelers for who choose the hiking in the most exciting way to get to the Machu Picchu. June to August is the peak travel season to Machu Picchu.
